ISO 27001 for Electronic Invoicing Providers

From 2 February 2026, electronic invoicing is gradually becoming mandatory for business-to-business (B2B) transactions in Greece, for all businesses and freelancers. This means that the documents issued by issuers to recipients must be produced exclusively by electronic means of communication, so that they are transmitted electronically and automatically to the TAXIS system of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), in order to be monitored, cross-checked and verified.

Electronic invoicing can be handled by Electronic Invoicing Service Providers who have obtained the Suitability Licence provided for in Ministerial Decision A.1035/20.02.2020. Those wishing to obtain a Suitability Licence as Electronic Invoicing Service Providers must submit an application to the Suitability Review Committee established within AADE, filing the supporting documents provided for in the Ministerial Decision, including the certificate ISO 27001.
