Occupational Health & Safety OHSAS 18001-ISO 45001

Υγεία & Ασφάλεια Εργαζομένων OHSAS 18001-ISO 45001

The ISO 45001 standard, which replaced OHSAS 18001, concerns the development of Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems and applies to all types of organizations and businesses. It focuses on protecting their human resources, on addressing hazards and on reducing risk in the workplace.

If you wish to take the best possible measures to ensure the safety of your staff, to make known to every interested party your sensitivity and commitment to protecting the Health and Safety of Employees, and finally to avoid fines and penalties from inadequate compliance with the relevant Legislation, as well as a bad reputation for your company, then a good practice is to obtain an OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 certificate.

The ISO 45001 and the transition from OHSAS 18001

The ISO 45001 has been in force since March 2018 and has fully replaced OHSAS 18001, which was definitively withdrawn in September 2021. All Occupational Health & Safety certificates are now issued exclusively in accordance with ISO 45001:2018.

Many Public Sector Organizations, mainly local authorities, cite it as a requirement in the public tenders they announce.

If your company does not yet hold an ISO 45001certificate, it is advisable to adapt the Occupational Health and Safety Management System you operate to its requirements and obtain the corresponding certificate as soon as possible.
